The country manager for the U.K. market is responsible for managing assigned distributors and direct sales activities across the United Kingdom. The role focuses on driving sales growth of automatic wastewater samplers, liquid level monitors, open channel and full pipe flowmeters in both municipal and industrial sectors. The candidate will develop and execute strategic and tactical plans, assess market potential, and align product offerings with customer needs and growth opportunities. Activities include technical sales presentations, application support, and multi-channel sales development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue direct sales opportunities within municipal and industrial water sectors, focusing on strategic accounts and high-potential clients.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key end-users, engineering firms, and procurement stakeholders to drive direct engagement and loyalty.

  • Conduct on-site visits and technical consultations to understand customer needs and propose tailored solutions.

  • Deliver technical sales presentations and product demonstrations to support direct sales efforts and educate customers on product capabilities.

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts directly with customers, ensuring alignment with company margin and profitability goals.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., application engineers, customer service, product management) to support direct sales execution and resolve customer issues.

  • Support product launches and promotional activities aimed at expanding direct sales reach and market share.

  • Develop and implement a sales strategy plan for the assigned region to meet the company’s sales growth goals.

  • Manage channel partner development activities and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.

  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, pricing strategies, and product development.

  • Manage assigned distributors, including training and performance evaluations, to support and develop the sales program.

  • Analyze sales statistics to formulate strategy and assist in promoting sales.

  • Perform sales forecasting activities and periodic sales reports showing sales volume, margin, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.

  • Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of competitors.

  • Represent the company at trade association meetings to promote its interests.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • University degree in a related field (Engineering, Environmental Sciences, etc.)

  • 3 to 5 years of directly related sales experience in automatic wastewater samplers and/or open channel flowmeters, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in English. An additional European language would be an advantage.

Computer Skills:

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (e.g., Salesforce).

Travel Requirements:

  • Frequent travel within the U.K. to visit customers, distributors, and attend industry events.

  • Occasional travel within EMEA for training, meetings, and strategic planning.
