The Colleague Experience Group (CEG)—Amex’s Human Resources function—is responsible for all colleague-related benefits and programs globally, including career growth and development, leadership and learning, total rewards and well-being, recruitment, labor relations, colleague servicing, and more. The UK Benefits Analyst is part of the Colleague Total Rewards & Wellbeing (CTRW) Operations team and is responsible for the operational delivery, governance and continuous improvement of the UK benefits portfolio. The role partners closely with Colleague Total Rewards & Wellbeing (CTRW), CEG Strategic Partners, Colleague & Labour Relations, Payroll, Finance, Procurement and external benefit providers to ensure UK benefit programmes are delivered accurately, compliantly and with an exceptional colleague experience.

Although positioned within CTRW Operations, this is a specialist Human Resources role requiring the application of HR knowledge, policy interpretation and professional judgement. The successful candidate will build trusted partnerships across the Colleague Experience Group (CEG), provide expert guidance on UK employee benefits and contribute to wider people initiatives that support colleagues throughout the employee lifecycle.

Current or recent experience working within the Colleague Experience Group (CEG) or an equivalent Human Resources function is essential. Candidates must have experience partnering with HR Business Partners, Colleague & Labour Relations, Colleague Total Rewards & Wellbeing (CTRW) and other HR stakeholders to deliver employee benefits and people programmes.

  • Lead the day-to-day operational delivery of the UK benefits portfolio, ensuring programmes are administered accurately, efficiently and in accordance with UK legislation and company policy.
  • Act as the UK Benefits Subject Matter Expert (SME) within CEG, providing specialist guidance on UK employee benefits, policy interpretation and programme eligibility.
  • Partner with CEG Strategic Partners, Colleague & Labour Relations and CTRW to support people initiatives, organisational change activities and the implementation of UK benefits programmes.
  • Apply HR knowledge and professional judgement to ensure benefits policies are interpreted and applied consistently, providing advice and guidance to colleagues, people leaders and HR stakeholders.
  • Build trusted partnerships across CEG, Payroll, Finance, Procurement and external benefit providers to ensure the successful delivery of UK benefits and an exceptional colleague experience.
  • Manage the operational delivery of UK benefit programmes, including pensions, healthcare, dental, life assurance, income protection, holiday buy/sell, cycle to work, retail discounts and other voluntary benefits.
  • Partner with Payroll to ensure accurate monthly benefits processing, governance and data integrity across MyInfo and benefits administration platforms.
  • Lead vendor governance activities, monitoring service delivery, resolving complex issues and driving continuous improvement with external providers.
  • Support the operational implementation of new UK benefits and enhancements to existing programmes in partnership with CTRW.
  • Analyse operational issues, identify root causes and recommend sustainable process improvements that enhance the colleague experience.
  • Produce operational reporting and analyse benefits data to identify trends, improve service delivery and support informed business decisions.
  • Maintain colleague-facing benefits content, guidance and communications, ensuring information is accurate, compliant and easy to understand.
  • Support annual benefits enrolment and other strategic UK benefits initiatives.
  • Ensure UK benefits programmes comply with UK legislation, HMRC guidance, pensions regulations and company policy while maintaining appropriate governance and operational controls.
  • Contribute to wider CEG initiatives and cross-functional projects that improve colleague experience and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current or recent experience working within the Colleague Experience Group (CEG) or an equivalent Human Resources function is essential.
  • Experience partnering with HR Business Partners, Colleague & Labour Relations, Colleague Total Rewards & Wellbeing (CTRW) and other HR stakeholders to deliver employee benefits and people programmes.
  • Significant experience managing UK employee benefits within a CEG or Human Resources environment.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting HR policies and providing guidance to colleagues, people leaders and HR stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment practices, employee benefits legislation, HMRC guidance and UK pensions regulations.
  • Experience supporting HR programmes, organisational change initiatives and colleague lifecycle activities where employee benefits are impacted.
  • Experience managing third-party benefit providers, including governance, service delivery and performance management.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP.
  • Experience using MyInfo and UK benefits administration platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify operational improvements and implement practical solutions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering an exceptional colleague experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a large, matrixed organisation.
  • Experience supporting UK benefits projects, process improvement initiatives and systems enhancements.
  • Experience using data and colleague insights to improve HR service delivery and operational effectiveness.
  • CIPD qualification or working towards CIPD accreditation is advantageous.
