Job Description

UI/UX Senior Designer– Nilfisk (Copenhagen or Hadsund)

Nilfisk is seeking a UI/UX Designer with strong visualization skills to join its design team. You will help translate complex ideas into intuitive, user-centred experiences that shape future products and solutions.

You will work closely with industrial designers, engineers, and product managers in a multidisciplinary, global team, contributing across the full product lifecycle—from early concept to final implementation.

About the Team

You will join the Industrial Design team at Nilfisk, where design plays a key role in connecting strategy, technology, and user needs. The team works across disciplines and regions to create cohesive, high-quality product experiences.

Based at our headquarters in Copenhagen or in Hadsund R&D center, you will collaborate closely with local and global colleagues, including teams at our R&D center in China, to deliver consistent and impactful design solutions across the product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate user insights into UX strategies, requirements, and design concepts

  • Define end-to-end UX across physical interfaces (e.g., control panels)

  • Establish consistent UX principles, interaction patterns, and workflows across product lines

  • Design, prototype (low–high fidelity), and validate solutions through usability testing and iteration

  • Ensure intuitive, accessible interactions for demanding real-world environments

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle

  • Communicate design ideas via prototypes, diagrams, and clear documentation

  • Contribute to and evolve design systems (Figma libraries, typography, color, iconography)

  • Graphic design expertise to specify hardware design direction and strategic communication tools to support communication

  • Partner with product managers to define features and UX frameworks aligned with product strategy

  • Align app and machine interfaces for seamless cross-platform user experiences

  • Guide engineering teams on UX implementation across web, embedded, and hardware systems

  • Understanding how interactions fit into broader ecosystems

  • Balancing short-term solutions with long-term product vision

  • Product and strategic thinking: Contributing to product strategy, not just execution

  • Presenting ideas clearly through visuals and narrative

  • Creating compelling design documentation and specs

Requirements

  • Min 5+ years of experience in UX/UI, product design, or industrial design

  • Proven experience leading UX work in complex hardware + software systems

  • Strong background in user-centered design and research-driven methodologies

  • Experience with control systems, embedded interfaces, or industrial products

  • Solid understanding of ergonomics, human factors, and interaction design

  • Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Miro, Adobe creative

  • Experience with prototyping, including physical and digital iterations

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to lead design direction in cross-functional, global teams

  • Fluent in English
