Job Description

Build products that dental labs are excited to use.

On-site | Vancouver Office – 675 W Hastings St.

The Problem We're Solving

Dental labs and clinics across 28 countries run on fragmented workflows — disconnected communication and manual case management. EviSmart is replacing that with an intelligent, unified platform. The products are live and growing. What we need now is someone who understands the end users, learns how they really work, and turns that into an experience built for them.

Why EviSmart

  • 300 people. Two hubs: Vancouver HQ and Manila operations.
  • 145% year-over-year SaaS growth — the market is responding.
  • 28 countries. One platform. The dental industry's Autopilot.
  • An in-house AI model research and development team building proprietary intelligence.

Why This Role, Right Now

EviSmart's product is expanding across several surfaces at once — a structured communication platform pulling labs and dentists off informal messaging channels, an AI-powered design module automating crown production, and a unified operations dashboard where it all comes together. As more of that UI gets built quickly — including with AI tools — the team needs someone embedded with them who keeps the experience usable and coherent, and who stays close to how dental labs actually work.

A Note from the Team

"We need someone who doesn't wait for a brief to start understanding the problem. They get in front of users, find where the experience breaks, and bring back something better. If you've done your best work in environments where the problem wasn't fully defined when you arrived, this is the right conversation."

— Paolo Kalaw, CEO, EviSmart

What You’ll Own

  • Usability testing and real time with users — run sessions and interviews with dentists and dental lab teams, and turn what you learn into design changes. You decide who you need to talk to; the sales and customer teams help you reach them.
  • Design for the surfaces the team is shipping — the mobile-first communication experience dentists use in the field, and the operations dashboard lab owners use to run daily workflow. Design for distinct user types without muddling the experience.
  • Take work from concept through to dev-ready design, working alongside the product team and engineers.
  • Design the UX of AI-assisted workflows — interfaces where AI output meets a human decision, built so users trust what they're seeing rather than second-guess it.

What You'll Get

  • Real influence over an experience thousands of dental labs use every day
  • Direct access to 2,000+ real lab customers for user research — the feedback loop is fast and the stakes are real.
  • AI-native product work from day one — designing interfaces where model output meets user decision-making
  • Production AI tooling built in-house: Claude, Cursor, and LLM-powered workflows — not a sandbox, not a pilot.
  • Competitive compensation: $80,000–$100,000 CAD (depending on experience)

How We Work

We ship before we’re 100% certain. We write things down because we have two offices and memory is lossy. We debate loudly and move without resentment. We treat the customer’s real problem as more important than an elegant internal process. If you’ve spent time waiting for permission to try something obvious — you’ll notice the difference here immediately.

What We Need

  • 3–4 years of product or UX design experience with complex, workflow-heavy, or operational products — B2B SaaS with non-technical end users is a strong plus.
  • You've run usability testing and talked to users yourself. You've sat with users, seen where they get stuck, and changed your designs because of it.
  • You can take a project from rough concept to dev-ready specs and work well with engineers to ship it.
  • Strong in Figma, wireframing, prototyping, and interaction design — across both mobile and desktop.
  • A clear communicator who can present work and take pushback from PMs, engineers, and execs without losing composure.
  • You've designed for multiple distinct user types within the same product without muddling the experience.
  • You think about how design affects whether users adopt and stick with a product — not just how it looks.
  • Comfortable working in AI-assisted design workflows (Figma, Claude, Cursor).
