The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking to fill multiple positions (60-100%) for Physician Assistant to support QuickCare and Urgent Care clinics These positions will support our Iowa City (Corridor) and Quad Cities locations. Physician Assistant performs direct patient care, including diagnostic and therapeutic services. Within the Physician Assistant (PA)/Physician relationship, the PA will exercise autonomy in medical decision making and services provided. Our Physician Assistant's will exercise autonomy in medical decision making and services provided. The PAs will also assist in educating healthcare students, as they rotate through the respective departments and divisions and will assist in research endeavors as appropriate. UI Walk-in Clinics provide care to try to save our patients a trip to the emergency room. We’re open evenings, weekends, and even some holidays. Our clinics are responsible to assess a wide variety of patients from newborn to geriatric and ensures patient care standards are met and provides access to additional care options not normally found at your traditional walk-in clinic, including X-rays, IV fluids, and stitches. This position is part of a dynamic and fast paced environment, rich with opportunities for learning and growth. We utilize a multidisciplinary approach to patient care that encourages teamwork between multiple disciplinary teams to provide the most comprehensive care to our patients. We have multiple clinics throughout the corridor area, as well as two locations in the Quad Cities, allowing our patients to find a location that is convenient to them. This position reports to the Medical Director within the UI Healthcare Walk In Clinics and Lead APP within UI Community Clinics.
This position will mainly support Iowa City/Corridor sites but could also support other service lines/clinics based on clinical needs/hours, including our Quad Cities clinic sites.

Maintain awareness of health facilities, agencies, and resources in order to facilitate the appropriate referral of patients.
Perform all other duties as assigned on a permanent or temporary basis.

Salary: $87,632 - $158,296 (Salary is based on years of experience)
EDUCATION REQUIRED
Must comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners which include graduation from an accredited PA educational program and certification by the NCCPA.
REQUIRED Qualifications
BLS, ACLS and PALS certification (obtained within first 6 months of employment).
