Typhoon Pilot

JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

This role is responsible to the Head of Flying Typhoon through the BAe Squadron Senior Pilot to assist and advise the RSAF squadron commander on all matters relating to the operation of Typhoon aircraft, continuation training and conversion training of RSAF aircrew.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assisting and advising the RSAF squadron commander on all matters relating to the Typhoon aircraft.
Assisting and advising the RSAF squadron commander on all matters related to pilot training on the unit.
Performing daily squadron duties, including flying and ground instruction, and supervisory duties as directed by the RSAF squadron commander.
Carrying out general staff work, projects, course development and other related tasks as requested by the RSAF squadron commander.
Conducting transition, continuation and recurrency training, ground school lectures, briefings and de-briefings based on the operational requirements of the aircrew.
Completing accurate, detailed reports or assessments of pilots under instruction.
Providing assistance to the RSAF squadron commander with the preparation of training / operational documents and specialist papers as requested.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
A minimum of 1500 hours flying experience on fast jet aircraft.
Extensive proven previous instructional experience.
Have previously completed at least one tour at the Typhoon Operational Conversion Unit or equivalent. C to I Typhoon including all aspects of syllabii up to IPUG.
You will be responsible to the Flying Wing Commander for flying instructional missions for cadets in accordance with appropriate Royal Saudi Air Force training syllabi.
This position requires good people development competencies, high levels of interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate, influence and direct Saudi cadets both in the air and on the ground
