Job Title: Type Change Mechanic

Responsible for exchanging tooling and making appropriate adjustments to grinding, assembly, inspection, and transfer machines within assigned line in order to complete change over in a timely manner.

Starting Wage: $25.00

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At ANBM, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • In manual mode, safely and correctly swap tooling for multiple computerized grinding and assembly machines
  • Complete necessary adjustments to machines to satisfy quality standard and obtain approval from Quality Department as required
  • Set inspection function of assigned machine to reject NG incoming parts according to Operational Standard and record the result
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and minor sensor problems. Report to supervisor if a repair is beyond one’s ability
  • Make necessary adjustment for machines to perform properly in AUTO mode
  • Check that all safety devices on assigned machines are working properly
  • Ensure all covers are replaced and all sensors are working properly before turning over the line to production department
  • Participate in line start up prior to production run when requested during the week when no T/C is scheduled
  • Participate in Saturday T/Cs when required
  • Complete scrap reporting
  • Follow all company rules and regulations related to environmental, health, and safety
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Perform cleaning and 5S tasks.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Bump caps, steel toe safety shoes, and safety glasses are required in all production areas. Hearing protection is encouraged and may be required in specific areas.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; hazards common to industrial settings; chemicals, vibration, and loud noises.
  • Safety shoes, safety glasses, chemical resistant gloves and bump caps for this position must be worn on the production floor. Other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
  • Jobs on the production floor require a minimum 40-hour workweek. Overtime may be required.
  • The pace of work is steady and fast.
  • Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • This position requires sufficient vision to see details at close range, so the person can pass an inspection test of finished parts and components.
