About the role and you:

Rainmaker is a leading production company specializing in Live sport broadcasting and Content creation. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated TV Broadcast Engineer to join this television division.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting broadcast equipment and systems. This role demands a blend of technical expertise and creative problem-solving skills to ensure smooth and high-quality television broadcasts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all technical elements of a television production are in working order, to deliver a smooth delivery of broadcasts.
  • Coordinating communication between the technical team and the production team.
  • Manage the technical elements of productions during live broadcast and studio shows. Thinking on your feet, problem solving and fixing problems as the arise.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining reliable systems and processes for providing technical support for all programs and events.
  • Creating and maintaining reliable systems and processes for the maintenance of TV equipment.
  • Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure our systems are always up to date.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and upgrades to broadcast equipment.
  • Provide technical support and training for junior engineers and other staff as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in television broadcast engineering.
  • Proficiency in the use of broadcast equipment switchers, routers, video servers, and other transmission technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of video, audio, and data transmission systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, live broadcast environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays when required.
