Position Purpose
To develop and assess technical trainees in order that they become competent in the
respective technical disciplines and areas as required by the strategic objectives of TPT.
Position Outputs
1 To present technical training modules/programmes to technical trainees aligned to unit standards where applicable.
2 To evaluate the performance of learners and conduct assessments to ensure effective learning and to take corrective action where necessary.
3 Conducting of Final Integrated assessments on technical trainees and the submission of the results for salary progression
4 To develop and conduct assessment activities in line with the assessment guide aligned to unit standards where applicable.
5 To provide support to learners in the practical environment to ensure safe and efficient application of skills acquired after the classroom training was conducted.
6 To take responsibility for the care of allocated resources needed for the presentation of courses. Facilities, equipment, human and material resources.
7 To provide technical expertise in respect of the development of training material/manuals in terms of all requirements in conjunction with business subject matter experts, training manager, training coordinators and the operational training manager.
8 To continually improve learner guides and assessment tools/instruments in conjunction with the Training Manager.
9 To spend scheduled time in the workplace to keep abreast of technological and operational changes in the operations.
10 To compile monthly and weekly training reports as required
11 Administrate and evaluate of OBML logbooks with portfolio of evidence (POEs)
12 To provide on the job coaching aligned to terminal SOPs
13 To coordinate the mentoring and coaching activities for all technical trainees (Artisans as well as technical feeder channel candidates)
14 Update training records and training plans for technical trainees in line with TPT quality requirements
15 To comply with TPT procedural Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant Technical qualification (Diploma
/ Red Seal)
- ETD Practitioner qualification (NQF)
- Registered Assessor
- Competence certificates in specific functional areas
- Computer literacy (MS-Office)
- Min 5 years’ applicable experience.

- Basic knowledge of VSD, PLC,
Gearboxes, bearings and controls.
Skills Required:
- Experience in conducting maintenance
on TPT equipment
