Tutor
This position offices in-person, on campusAn Academic Tutor at Valor Christian High School supports students’ academic and spiritual growth by identifying learning gaps, delivering individualized and differentiated instruction, and using engaging strategies that build critical thinking, communication, collaboration and innovation. Tutors provide a respectful, nurturing environment that meets students’ intellectual, social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs while building trusting one-on-one relationships. They communicate effectively with teachers, parents and other constituents to champion student success, all while seamlessly weaving Biblical truth and Christian values into instruction, guiding students to grow academically and spiritually as future leaders who transform the world for Christ.Valor Christian High School is a decidedly Christian, college preparatory school whose core values honor a biblical foundation. RESULTS

An outstanding Academic Tutor at Valor Christian High School will have helped students achieve measurable growth academically, spiritually, and personally. Students will be able to demonstrate marked improvement in core subjects, critical thinking, and effective communication, preparing them for college and career success. Through excellent individualized instruction, tutors will have supported spiritual formation, cultural engagement, and leadership development in addition to academic improvement. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline
• Advanced Degree in a related area is preferred
• Experience or background in mathematics and/or science
• Solid biblical and theological foundation and understanding
• High School teaching experience preferred
• Experience in differentiating learning to meet individual learning styles and needs

PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe same basic physical demands described here are the same for all employees to successfully perform the essential functions of their jobs. Employees must periodically lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and could occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral/depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics are varied and include classroom, office, and outdoor events while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is also varied.
POSITION TYPE: A - Student-facing position. Traditional school calendar. August - May. This position offices in-person, on campus.HOURS PER WEEK: Part-Time, Non-Exempt. 15-25 hours per week. All tutoring sessions take place during Valor’s regular hours of operations (7:15 a.m. - 4:10 p.m. Mon-Fri). Will not include benefits, including sick/personal leaveSUPERVISOR: Dean of Academic Services PAY RANGE: Tutoring Rate: $22-$30/Hour. Prep Rate: $18/HourSTART DATE: January 13, 2026
