About the role

As a Turf Manager, you will be key in maintaining and enhancing turf areas ensuring they remain lush, healthy, and resilient. Reporting to the Site Manager, this hands-on role based in Toowong, involves maintaining and enhancing turf areas, implementing sustainable practices, delivering exceptional results and leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance tasks such as mowing, line marking, irrigation, aerating, and topdressing to uphold the quality and playability of turf surfaces.
• Monitor turf health and proactively address issues such as pests, diseases, and compaction through appropriate cultural and chemical practices.
• Leading and guiding a team of grounds people and apprentices while on site
• Implement sustainable turf management practices, including water conservation strategies, and pest management techniques.
• Operate and maintain specialised turf equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Collaborate with the landscaping team to coordinate maintenance schedules, prioritise tasks, and deliver exceptional results.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their expectations, address concerns, and provide turf care recommendations.

About You

• Certificate III in Sports Turf Management
• A current White Card and a Working with Children's Check (or willing to obtain one)
• Previous experience in turf management, greenkeeping, or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of turfgrass species, growth habits, and maintenance requirements.
• Familiarity with turf care equipment and machinery, including mowers, aerators, and sprayers.
• Ongoing safety training programs and resources available.
