Job Description

Acuren is seeking a highly experienced Senior Turbomachinery Specialist to support advanced vibration diagnostics, rotor dynamics analysis, and balancing of critical rotating equipment within the power generation and heavy industrial sectors. This role provides subject matter expertise for turbine and generator diagnostics, supporting both remote and field-based activities during commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and outage conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level vibration diagnostics for turbines, generators, compressors, and auxiliary systems
  • Support real-time troubleshooting and balancing during startup and outage conditions
  • Perform transient and orbit analysis using ADRE systems
  • Provide remote technical guidance to field personnel
  • Deliver root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations
  • Support technical reporting and client deliverables
  • Collaborate with Acuren engineering and field teams

Other work duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 20+ years of experience in turbomachinery diagnostics and vibration analysis
  • Extensive experience in power generation environments
  • Strong knowledge of rotor dynamics, orbit analysis, and CBM practices
  • Experience supporting turbine startups and outage troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Utility or OEM experience
  • Experience with flexible rotor balancing
  • Vibration certification (ISO Cat II–IV)
  • Experience mentoring junior analysts

  • Ability to work independently in a remote support capacity

Working Conditions

  • Flexible, project-based engagement
