INSTALLATION SUPERVISOR- Turbine & MBop

Working location: INDIA

General Description

Responsible for activities related to the construction, building and commissioning on site, from site mobilization, through civil, erection related to the Hydro Turbines, Main Inlet valves, & its Auxiliaries, including welding and piping and commissioning. Accountable for the quality of own work with safe and cost effective execution in accordance with the project schedule and specifications.

JOB RESPONSABILITIES AND TASKS

  • Understand the Drawings and documents related to Turbine, MIV assembly and its auxiliaries
  • Supervision of the installation works in accordance with contract specifications, drawings and installation documentation.
  • Hands-on installation and management of the installation team to perform the required works and prepare detailed/ micro planning of each activity and detailed required resources (such as manpower, tools, consumables etc) of Turbine, MIV assembly and its auxiliaries within the schedule’s duration with clear measurable progress parameters.
  • Active cooperation and coordination of internal and external system interfaces (coordination of site activities and interface points with internal resources, other contractors, subcontractors, partners and customer)
  • Active cooperation and coordination to optimise site manning and cost control.
  • Risk assessment of the planned works, safety coordination with others, and implementation of safety measures in accordance with the health, safety and environmental plan.
  • Monitoring and/or performance of inspections, measurements, and preparation/completion of installation documentation and test reports includes work front handling over and taking over from and to client and within inter department.
  • Timely reporting and participation in resolution of site non-conformities, system interface and technical issues, and preparation of records for possible claims.
  • Preparation of daily logs and input to weekly/monthly reports of installation activities.
  • Preparation and timely acquisition of all required manpower, tools, equipment and devices for each particular installation process.
  • Internal reporting of accidents and incidents critical to safety (near misses).
  • Input & Guide for final as-built drawings for respective assigned assemblies.

Technical knowledge and experience

  • Candidate should have good technical knowledge and experience of stage of activities to ensure the carried out works as per drawing & quality requirements for following turbine assemblies:
    • System Handing Over & Taking over during for civil & E&M activity
    • First Stage embedments including pipings
    • Draft Tube Liner, & Draft Tube Elbow
    • Draft Tube Cone
    • Foundation Ring
    • Stay Ring
    • Stay Ring with Spiral
    • Second embedments including pipings
    • Spiral pressure testing/ Distribitor pressure testing
    • Turbine Housing / Pit Liner
    • Third Stage Embedments including pipings
    • Bottom Ring & Head Cover Pre & Final Assembly
    • Runner Installation (Pelton/ Francis/ Kaplan)
    • Guide Vane Operating Mechanism / Nozzle Alignment & Final Assembly
    • Turbine Shaft Line Alignment
    • Guide Bearing & Shaft Seal Assembly
    • Turbine Auxilaries
    • Dry commissioning of Turbine & Its Auxilaries
    • Turbine Efficiency/ Field Tests
  • Candidate should have good technical knowledge and experience of stage of activities to ensure the carried out works as per drawing & quality requirements for following MIV assemblies:
    • Anchorage Assembly
    • Upstream & Downstream Pipe Assembly
    • MIV Pre & Final Assembly
    • Final Stage Concreting
    • Bypass Assembly
    • Dewatering Assembly
    • Operator Assembly
    • Limit Switch & other instrumentation assembly
    • Over velocity flow detection assembly
    • Maintenace Platform Assembly
    • MIV Auxilaries
    • Dry commissioning of MIV & Its Auxilaries

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Graduate in Mechnical Engineering
  • Experience: 10+ years
  • Languages: English
  • Product Know-How Installation and Commissioning works of Turbine and MBoP
  • Readiness to travel : Yes
