About The Role:

• Be a part of the instrument design team working on onshore or offshore feasibility, conceptual, basic engineering, FEED, detailed design and EPC/ EPCM projects.
• Perform instrument engineering activities and review activities carried out by Engineers, Designers and CAD Operators.
• Liaise with other departments, clients, vendor, subcontractors, third parties and approving authority.
• Participate in inter-disciplines, project, clients, vendors, subcontractors and third parties’ meetings.
• Participate in all design review such as HAZOP review and 3D model review meetings
• Perform all Inter-discipline check
• Prepare scope of work, manhour and cost estimates for proposals.
• Groom young engineers and provide advice to peers in their field of expertise.
• Principal Engineer, who is a technical specialist, has the added responsibility to act in a consultancy role, providing advice and carrying out specialized engineering tasks.
• Primary involvement in a typical project includes:
  • Prepare Telecoms design basis, philosophy, Telecom Architecture Block Diagram and Equipment List
  • Provide input to specifications and requisitions for all packaged equipment and provide input to technical bid evaluation for packaged equipment
  • Perform Vendor data review of all Packaged equipment
  • Prepare/Review/Check data sheets, & requisition for all Telecom Equipment; PAGA, CCTV, LAN/TEL/WIFI/WIMAX, 4G/5G, Communication Network, FOC, UHF, VHF, Microwave, Marine Beacon, AIS, VSAT and perform vendor offer review & technical bid evaluation, carryout vendor drawings/documents review and vendor data incorporation for the above Telecoms Equipment.
  • Prepare/Review/Check Pathloss, PAGA coverage and power consumption calculations.
  • Prepare/Review/Check/ Telecoms Equipment layout, cable tray layout, cable layout, cable schedule, typical Installation detail drawings and bulk material take off.
  • Participate in Factory acceptance test and site acceptance test.
  • Assist in plant erection, commissioning and start-up.

About You:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Telecommunication and Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Five (5) to ten (10) years’ experience in instrument engineering design in the Oil & Gas, Refineries, Petrochemical, Chemical and related industries. Experience should cover at least five (5) years of telecommunication engineering design with Engineering Consultant or EPC/ EPCM Contractor.
• Highly motivated and strong leadership quality.
• Conversant with International Codes and Standards and Engineering Practices used in the industry – EIA/TIA, ICAO, IMO, IEC, IEEE, ITU, etc.
