Job Purpose
To execute and coordinate Flow Assurance engineering activities for assigned project scopes. To deliver high-quality technical work in compliance with project requirements, company standards, and applicable engineering practices. To support the Lead Flow Assurance Engineer in achieving project objectives by providing sound technical expertise and ensuring the quality, accuracy, and timely completion of assigned Flow Assurance deliverables.
Main Accountabilities
Technical/Main Accountabilities:
- Preparation, scribing and reporting risk workshops (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, ALARP, LOPA, Bow Tie workshops)
- Preparation of risk analysis studies (qualitative, semi-quantitative, quantitative) and formal safety assessment (FSA) studies, including MAE screening, Fire and Explosion Risk Analysis, Quantitative Risk Analysis, Non Flammable Risk Analysis (Dropped Object Risk, Ship Collision Risk, Occupational Risk, Structural Risk), Escape, Evacuation and Rescue Analysis, Emergency Systems Survivability Analysis, Temporary Refuge Impairment Analysis, Smoke and Gas Ingress Analysis, ALARP Evaluations
- Safety engineering skills within specialty area
- Understanding of oil and gas risk and safety related codes and standards
- Preparation of safety cases and / or safety reports, including Facility Description, Safety Management System Description, FSA Description, Hazard Registers, Bow tie Diagrams, Safety Critical Elements and Performance Standards
- Familiar with safety studies software, i.e. PHAST, SAFETI, Bowtie XP, etc.
- Experience in oil and gas systems such as fixed and floating production systems, subsea pipelines, drilling, onshore pipelines, onshore processing plants, offshore construction facilities, offshore accommodation facilities – commensurate with project experience
- Experience in project development phases such as front end and concept studies, FEED, detailed design, installation hookup and commissioning, operations, brownfield and greenfield projects, decommissioning and abandonment – commensurate with project experience.
- Experience in performing 3D explosion simulations using CFD software (e.g., FLACS) will be an added advantage.
Project Management:
- Understanding project schedules
- Delivery of assigned tasks on time and on budget
- Comply with Genesis business administration systems
- Collaboration and cooperation with other Genesis personnel.
Consultancy / Client Service Delivery:
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on high quality report generation and ability to clearly explain technical solutions
Personnel / Administration:
- Behave in a professional manner, consistent with the Genesis branding and good standing
- An outgoing, proactive, positive with "Can Do" attitude
- Early notification of issues or personnel matters that may have an impact on service delivery
- Notification of absences
- Cooperation with other personnel when working together on projects
- Leave planning in line with project obligations, in close liaison with Study Leaders and the Study Manager
- Compliance with Genesis code of conduct, policies and procedures
- Attending Genesis internal training and meetings
Safety Responsibilities:
- Compliance with Genesis safety policies and procedures
- Compliance with client safety policies and procedures when working on client controlled work sites
- Reporting hazards and incidents
- Ensuring own actions do not compromise the safety or fellow workers
- Taking action without delay to remove a hazard, or reporting to an appropriate person, where the hazard presents a danger to other personnel
- Participating in office emergency response drills and exercises.
About You
- Degree in Chemical Engineering essential & MIChemE preferred
- 5 to 8 years of experience in risk and safety in Oil and Gas or a similarly hazardous industry
- Malaysian Nationals preferred
- Candidate is required to be in Malaysia
Additional Information
- Highlights and supports resolution of inter-discipline problems associated with the project involved.
- Must be able to liaise with other project personnel of various cultures and ethnicities.
