We are currently seeking a Marine Construction Engineer to join our team based in Kuala Lumpur.

Successful candidates would be offered fixed term of employment.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Supervise on-site marine construction i.e. marine piling, cofferdam installation, under water concrete, sheet piling, breakwater rock armour placement, dredging & reclamation, insitu concrete structure, precast concrete etc.
  • Inspection and verify construction workmanship, structural alignment overall construction quality, material compliance with approved drawing and specifications.
  • Analyse site specific marine conditions including tides, current, wave, seabed soil and refine construction sequence and ensure constructability.
  • Resolve technical site issues, design discrepancies, unexpected seabed geotechnical conditions during project executions.
  • Prepare, review and approve marine construction method statements, temporary work designs, lifting plans, marine vessel operation plans etc.
  • Plan construction work windows according to tidal schedule, weather forecast, marine constraints to maximize work production.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments for offshore floating operations, barge mobilization and marine foundation construction.
  • Knowledge with marine construction activities comply to PIANC, BS EN, ASSHTO marine structure standards, local maritime authority regulations and environmental protection requirements
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, maritime authorities and environmental officers for inspection, permit validation and progress alignment.
  • Manage daily site communication between on-site team and HQ for technical updates and progress reports.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly marine construction progress reports.
  • Assists BOQ verification, construction quantity measurement, variation order assessment.
  • Ability to support subcontract department develop invitation to bid (ITB) document i.e. scope of work, time schedule etc.
  • Compile completed project handover documentation upon project completion.
  • Familiar with marine construction equipment i.e. floating cranes, barges, jack-up platforms, dredgers, and marine piling rigs.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydrographic survey maps and seabed topography data.
  • Strong on-site problem-solving ability for complex marine construction conditions.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with multi-disciplinary teams and stake holders

About you:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Marine Construction Engineer with more than 10 years of marine construction experience to oversee the full lifecycle of marine and coastal infrastructure projects. These projects include, but are not limited to, port facilities, jetties, breakwaters, seawalls, land reclamation works, marine piling, dredging, and other related marine construction activities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical supervision, validating construction methodologies, ensuring quality control and safety compliance, coordinating site activities, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout all phases of marine construction projects. The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with technical specifications and industry standards.
