We are currently seeking a Engagement Manager - Advisory Studies to join our Genesis team based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

About the Job

Being part of the Advisory project team, the Manager is responsible for leading and delivering highly strategic outcomes for our clients via our engagements; independently planning mobilizing and delivering our projects within a timely manner.

The Manager is also responsible for developing our Advisory Business; creating insightful marketing and thought leadership materials, and presenting to our clients and a wider audience (via conferences and subject matter engagements) for the purpose of originating and securing our projects pipeline.

This is a leadership role within the Advisory business, shaping and driving the energy transition narrative for our key clients and stakeholders.

Job scope

  • Responsible for successful multi-discipline study/project execution and management of change; Responsible for ensuring purchase orders and variation orders are in place to cover all work completed for the Client
  • Identification of future opportunities with the current client; Build Client relationships and improve Clients’ understanding of drivers and challenges
  • Support Head of Country with Business Development campaigns to grow and diversify our market footprint and Client base, Awareness of competitor’s capabilities
  • Responsible for proposal preparation and delivery
  • Working with the operational teams (consultants, engineers, and drafter/designer), responsible for ensuring agreed project Gross Profit targets are met on assigned projects/studies
  • Deliver projects in compliance with internal and/or Client processes; accountable for the quality of the service, assessed by Client feedback forms.
  • Responsible for the Project profitability executed as per the proposal
  • Provide leadership and Line Reporting to a team of Consultants and Engineers, ensuring strong engagement and motivation of the team, focused on results
  • Collaborates closely with P&C teams and Local Resource Planners to ensure a proactive approach to the development and retention of talent within their team
  • Global collaboration to ensure continuous improvement and simplification of processes and tools, with a focus on digitalization
  • Supports promoting the team both internally and externally
  • Supports cost and schedule estimates for decision support packages

  • O rder Intake - Win work through delivering tenders and follow on work
  • Project Profitability - Accountable for Project profitability in line with the proposal
  • Project Delivery - Ensure successful project execution and delivery along with Client satisfaction of assigned projects
  • Business Development & Client Engagement - Build Client relations and support Business Development campaigns to grow and diversify our market footprint and Client base
  • Innovative & Collaborate - Collaborate globally to explore new services and ways to optimize project execution and profitability, with focus on digitalization
  • Competency development - Ensure we have the necessary competencies to execute projects and grow our business

About You

  • Significant experience (15 years or more) in the energy industry.
  • Degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or any related field
  • Experience in early engagement / Feasibility consulting
  • High level of intellectual curiosity, drive and flexibility
  • Significant experience in Upstream oil and gas, LNG, Energy Transition Projects
  • Experience in early engagement/ feasibility / conceptual studies in the energy industry
