Job Description


The Trust Review Officer is responsible for reviewing Trust documents across retail, commercial, and mortgage areas, and providing dedicated support to Trust Review, Probate & Guardianship, and the broader Trust Department. This position focuses mostly on trust document review and approval, while also serving as a resource for compliance questions and client inquiries as needed. This role requires a strong focus on quality, compliance, and timely completion of trust document reviews.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the review of Trust documents across multiple lines of business
  • Responsible for reviewing all Trusts for the following:
    • Retail Account Trust Review
    • Mortgage Trust Review
    • Commercial Loan Trust Review and Trust legal opinions when needed
    • ALOC legal opinion letters
    • Probate & Guardianship support (as needed and based on any excess capacity)
  • Continually supports Trust Review, Probate & Guardianship, and the Trust Department
  • Serving as a resource for compliance questions and client inquiries when needed.
  • Ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency during all trust document review processes.
  • Committed to a prompt SLA response.
  • Responsible to correspond with all teammates Bank wide as need to provide quick approvals or feedback.
  • Adhere to the highest legal and ethical standards applicable to our industry, while observing both the spirit and letter of all government regulations and laws, and bank policies and procedures.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field required
  • JD Degree from an accredited university and an active Florida Bar license required.
  • Minimum of 2 years with trust and estate document reviews (experience with personal trusts, estates, guardianships, etc.)
  • Graduate of Florida Trust School, Cannon Trust School, National Trust School, or CTFA designation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates sound professional judgment using analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven track record in building relationships across lines of business.
