About TMF Group

TMF Group is a leading provider of critical administrative services, helping clients invest and operate safely around the world. We provide legal, financial and employee administration through TMF Group's teams in 125 offices.

Discover the Role

The Trust Officer will assist with the day-to-day administration of a portfolio of trusts, companies, foundations and related structures. Working under the supervision of senior team members, the Trust Officer will support the delivery of high-quality client service, help ensure regulatory and statutory requirements are met, and maintain accurate records and documentation.

The role provides an opportunity to develop technical trust and corporate administration knowledge while gaining exposure to a range of international client structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the effective administration and Cayman-based oversight of assigned trusts, private trust companies, underlying entities and related structures, while also supporting colleagues with other client portfolios as required.
  • Support the establishment, ongoing administration, restructuring and termination of trust and fiduciary structures, working under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Act as a day-to-day contact for clients, beneficiaries, intermediaries and professional advisers, providing a high standard of client service and following up on agreed deliverables.
  • Assist with monitoring trust assets, transactions, governance records and trustee decisions, ensuring that appropriate documentation, approvals and records are obtained and maintained.
  • Support client compliance onboarding and ongoing due diligence activities in line with Cayman regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
  • Assist in meeting applicable Cayman regulatory, AML/KYC, FATCA, CRS, Economic Substance, Beneficial Ownership and internal risk management requirements.
  • Monitor assigned periodic reviews, regulatory filings, accounts and operational deliverables, escalating delays, risks, control issues and complex matters to senior team members.
  • Support finance related matters, including budgeting, invoicing, new-business setup and ad hoc finance projects.
  • Liaise with internal and group support teams to coordinate service delivery, follow up on outstanding items and escalate quality or service issues where appropriate.

AUTHORUTY AND SUPERVISION

The Trust Officer will work under the supervision of a Senior Trust Officer, Assistant Manager, Manager or Director and will operate within established procedures and delegated authority limits. Complex client matters, discretionary decisions, higher-risk instructions and potential compliance concerns must be referred to an appropriate senior team member.

DEVELOPMENT EXPECTATIONS

  • Develop a sound understanding of the structures within the assigned portfolio.
  • Build knowledge of applicable policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply feedback and demonstrate increasing independence in routine administration.
  • Pursue relevant technical training and professional development.
  • Demonstrate readiness for broader responsibilities through consistent accuracy, reliability and sound judgement.

Key Requirements

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
  • A STEP qualification, or progress towards a relevant professional qualification, is desirable.
  • At least 3 years’ relevant experience in trust administration, fiduciary services, private wealth, corporate services or a related financial services environment. Cayman experience is desirable.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with clients, advisers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify missing information, approvals, documentation or potential risks and escalate these appropriately.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A developing understanding of fiduciary responsibilities, regulatory requirements and trust administration practices.
  • A client-focused approach, with the ability to balance service delivery, compliance requirements and operational procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and seek guidance from senior colleagues when required.

Note: This job description is intended to outline the general nature and level of work expected of a Trust Officer. Duties may evolve to meet the changing needs of the organisation, its clients or the regulatory environment.
