We’re looking for an experienced Diesel Field Service Technician to serve customers throughout Hampton Roads, VA, and Northeast North Carolina. This is a great opportunity for a high-level technician who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems independently, and wants to be part of a strong team that respects skill, experience, and hard work.
This role is ideal for someone who likes being out in the field, working hands-on, and taking ownership of repairs from start to finish. You’ll be trusted to represent the company well, diagnose issues accurately, and keep equipment running safely and efficiently.
The right person for this role has strong experience working on heavy trucks and equipment and can confidently diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems. You know your way around diesel engines, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, hydraulics, and getting equipment back up and running the right way — not just the fastest way.
Because this is a field service position, candidates should be comfortable working outdoors year-round in all types of weather conditions.
We’re looking for someone who’s dependable, self-motivated, and values quality workmanship. In return, you’ll join a team that appreciates experienced technicians, supports each other, and gives you the opportunity to put your skills to work without unnecessary micromanagement.
As a Mid-Atlantic Mobile Mechanic, you won't just be fixing equipment; you'll be part of a team transforming the heavy truck industry. We service a diverse product line, including service cranes, roll-offs, trash trucks, street sweepers, dump trucks, and more! From body swaps to replacing hydraulic pumps, your days will be filled with challenges, laughter, and a little grease.
What are the qualifications that we're looking for?
We are an equal employment opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

In 1993, the Company opened an additional facility in Clinton, MD and continued a pattern of growth from that point on.
Today, Mid-Atlantic Waste serves customers with (8) eight fully staffed service locations in the Mid-Atlantic region. These facilities include Easton, MD; Clinton, MD; Chesapeake, VA; New Castle, DE; Salem, VA; Pittsburgh, PA; Manassas, VA; and Hampton, VA.
The Vision
Rich envisioned a company that would offer its customers superior quality in products, service, and parts. This vision has allowed the Company to grow to over 100 employees in eight offices. From the beginning, the Company’s purpose was not just to sell the best waste recycling products in the world but to give each customer outstanding quality, value, and service. At Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems, we strive to take care of the needs of our customers throughout the entire ownership process.
The Future
Mid-Atlantic Waste Systems would not exist without creating value for our customers through top-quality products combined with knowledgeable and committed employees. MAWS continues to find new and innovative ways to stay on top of current trends in the waste industry so as to bring fresh ideas to our customers. We appreciate the confidence and trust our customers have given to us over the past 38 years and will work hard to maintain that trust over the next 38 years.
