Truck Service / Preventive Maintenance Technician

Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a Truck Service / Preventive Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. This position performs routine preventive maintenance and light mechanical service on commercial and heavy-duty trucks while assisting our lead technicians with additional service and repair work.

The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, safety-minded, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services on commercial and heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Change engine oil, fuel, air, and oil filters.
  • Lubricate chassis and other components.
  • Inspect and service tires; check and adjust tire pressure.
  • Inspect and adjust brakes.
  • Perform basic wiring and lighting repairs
  • Inspect vehicles and identify additional maintenance or repair needs.
  • Assist lead technicians with repairs and service when PM work is completed.
  • Safely use hand tools, air tools, tire tools, and other shop equipment.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records.
  • Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and properly maintained.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Basic automotive or heavy-duty mechanical knowledge.
  • Previous truck, fleet, tire, or preventive maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • CDL Class A or B is a plus, but not required.
  • State Inspection License is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
