Job Summary
The Truck Loader is responsible for accurately preparing, picking, staging, loading, unloading, and wrapping orders for shipment. This entry-level position plays a critical role in supporting shipping and receiving operations while ensuring products are handled safely, accurately, and efficiently. Previous material handling experience is preferred, but training opportunities and cross-functional exposure are provided. This position works primarily outdoors and requires the ability to perform duties in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving
- Load Full Truckload (FTL), Flatbed (FB), Van, and Less Than Truckload (LTL) shipments.
- Stage loads for shipment and ensure proper shipment organization.
- Verify load accuracy prior to loading and unloading.
- Properly palletize and load products onto trucks.
- Unload inbound shipments, including common carriers, returns, and vendor deliveries.
- Locate and store inbound materials in designated yard or warehouse locations.
- Consolidate product quantities as required.
- Transport orders to designated areas for additional processing.
- Stock products in assigned yard and storage locations.
Order Fulfillment
- Read and identify components from pick sheets.
- Accurately pick customer orders.
- Transport products to wrapping stations.
- Flex-wrap products for shipment.
- Label and clearly identify completed orders.
- Assemble hardware kits according to specified quantities and designs.
- Stage completed orders for shipment.
Equipment Operation
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Move materials throughout the facility, yard, and shipping areas.
- Conduct pre-use inspections and report equipment concerns.
Documentation & Inventory Control
- Complete all shipping and receiving paperwork accurately.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation.
- Verify product counts and order quantities.
- Identify and locate materials within shipping yard and storage areas.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness at all times.
- Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and regulations.
- Keep shipping, receiving, and yard areas organized and clean.
- Assist with general housekeeping duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
- Basic math skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read and interpret pick sheets and shipping documents.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred
- Previous material handling, warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience.
- Forklift operation experience and/or certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

- Ability to identify products, locations, and shipping requirements.

Working Conditions
- Work is performed primarily outdoors in a shipping yard environment.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow.
- Frequent operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Regular lifting, carrying, and moving of materials and products.
This position offers opportunities for cross-training and hands-on experience in a variety of shipping, receiving, inventory, and material handling functions.
Shifts:
- Must be available to work 8+ hour shifts and over time as required
- Monday – Friday, some Saturdays
- Hours will range from 9:00am - 6:00pm
Pay rate:
- Base pay rate of $26.16, 2nd shift premium: $1.50
- Base rates increase $1/hour upon successful completion of probation (60 working days)
