Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operates straight trucks to include step vans, 1.5-ton stake truck (with lift gate), in a safe and efficient manner over roadways during various environmental conditions.
  • An understanding of the needs of the organization serviced, i.e. Logistics Readiness Squadron
  • Good working knowledge of governing supply and transportation systems, programs, policies, work methods and guidance
  • Ability to define or recognize the whole problem or program involved, to collect necessary data, establish facts, and take or recommend actions based on application or interpretation of established guidelines
  • Work within a framework of established supply and transportation guidance, policies, procedures, or other governing logistics management guidelines
  • Coordinate with internal and external base supply customers concerning program/customer requirements
  • Complete a daily pre-trip vehicle inspection checklist (AF Form 1800) before first delivery of the day, recording and reporting any defects or malfunctions
  • Verify contents of inventory loads against delivery list
  • Practice safe and secure loading methods to avoid damaging assets
  • Operate material handling equipment as required
  • Follow established routes and time schedules for delivering of assets to base customers
  • Follow DOT/OSHA/USAF regulations and safety standards
  • Responsible for prompt reporting of accidents/incidents, injuries, and hazardous situations and violations to the Project Manager or Material Coordinator Lead.
  • Use provided computer software/hardware to deliver assets to base customers and maintaining a clear audit trail

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

  • Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have and maintain a security clearance commensurate with property movements and computer systems accessed. Normally, a SECRECT clearance.
  • Minimum 4 years U.S. Air Force Base Supply and/or Transportation experience
  • Must obtain and maintain Flight Line Driving Permit (training obtained upon hiring).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a restricted area badge to access flight line aircraft parking areas for property deliveries (obtained upon hiring).
  • Must be able to lift/carry 40 lbs. and be familiar with cargo tie-down and security procedures.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player; ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others.
  • Must be able to operate material handling equipment to include a 6,000 lb. forklift and maintain proficiency.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Proficient in interpreting data, supply and transportation management historical information
  • Proficient in use of ILS-S, ES-S, Asset Management and/or other Automated Individual Equipment Systems
  • Knowledge of organizational procedures and workflows – understanding how work moves through a company.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant technologies or tools – e.g., Microsoft 365, communication platforms, or industry‑standard software.
  • Knowledge of customer service practices – principles of providing quality service and managing inquiries professionally.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and confidentiality principles – awareness of proper handling of sensitive information.
  • Communication skills (written and verbal) – ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
  • Time management and prioritization – balancing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.

Preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of U.S. Air Force Base Supply and/or Transportation related work
  • Associates Degree in U.S. Air Force Logistics Management, Air Force Traffic Management and or Supply Chain Management.
  • Knowledge/experience with Air Force requirements pertaining to Vehicle Operations, Documented Cargo Movement.
  • Knowledge/experience of various programs, i.e., Receipt for Classified List; Delinquent Document management; Equipment Accountability Personnel List
  • Experience with U.S. Air Force Vehicle Operations practices, procedures and applicable governing guidance.

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
