Mō te tūranga | About the role

Join our Timaru team in a truck driving role where your asphalt experience will make a real impact. This role is ideal for an experienced asphalt truck driver who enjoys being behind the wheel but is also happy to get stuck in with the crew when needed.

As our Truck Driver, you’ll help keep asphalt operations moving by hauling materials, towing trailers, loading and unloading, and supporting the team on site. It’s a hands-on role with variety, responsibility, and the chance to be part of a crew that backs each other and takes pride in delivering good work safely and to a high standard.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

  • Drive and operate trucks and machinery safely and professionally across our Timaru worksites.
  • Load, unload, tow transport trailers, and haul materials to and from site.
  • Support the asphalt crew with hands-on site work as required to help get the job done.
  • Keep trucks and equipment compliant, presentable, and in safe working condition.
  • Take part in pre-starts, follow safety and quality processes, and speak up when something’s not right.

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

  • Solid hands-on experience in asphalt operations and heavy vehicle driving.
  • A current Class 4 licence minimum - Class 5, and W, T, R endorsements will be highly regarded.
  • At least 3 years’ practical heavy vehicle driving experience.
  • A practical, reliable, safety-first approach and the willingness to work as part of the crew, not just from the cab.
  • A team-focused attitude, good work ethic, and pride in delivering quality work every day.
