Job

Summary
Drives a tractor trailer or box truck, and LLGI buses on assigned routes or special runs. Receives, loads and transports goods. Works in collaboration with Lead Truck Drivers to achieve transportation and logistics objectives.
Essential Job Duties
1. Operate tractor trailers and/or straight trucks and 15 passenger buses on assigned routes.
2. Conduct and complete a pre-trip checklist.
3. Maintain daily trip log including road and vehicle conditions and information.
4. Transport trailers to and from designated locations.
5. Drive forklift duties and perform related duties.
6. Maintain proper truck load distributions, unload and move goods.
7. Load and unload trailers.
8. Ensure compliance with transportation policies, procedures and programs. Remain current on all government regulations, inspections and reporting.
9. Drive special routes and performs related duties during special organizational events.
10. Perform general warehouse duties.
11. Contribute to team success by involving others in work processes, decisions and actions.
12. Participate in required training.
13. Communicate the organization’s mission, vision, values and promote diversity.
14. Work independently and effectively manage time to ensure that work is completed.
15. Travel to locations within as well as outside the LLGI territory.
16. Ensure that the customer’s perspective is a driving force behind customer satisfaction.

QualificationsEducation, Experience, and Credentials
Requires high school diploma or equivalent
Requires one year experience driving and operating a tractor trailer and straight trucks. Must be 21 years old and possess a valid CDL (Class A Preferred).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Requires certification as a forklift operator or ability to obtain certification within 6 months. Complies with all Federal Motor Carrier regulations as well as federal, state and local driving / transportation regulations.
Requires ability to perform sorting and packing tasks to secure donations.
Requires ability to work a variety of schedules.
Requires the ability to recognize potential issues before they arise, and recommend appropriate solutions. Requires documentation of the successful completion of the USDOT Medical Examination.Requires a valid driver’s license, safe driving record, proof of insurance and reliable transportation
Requires the ability to work independently while fostering a strong team atmosphere
Conveys information clearly through verbal and written communication.

Physical Requirements
Requires physical stamina and strength to lift or carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
Requires ability to push carts weighing a minimum of 250 pounds.
Requires ability to safely use pallet jack with loads ranging from 100 to 700 pounds.
Requires ability to perform a combination of tasks such as stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, lifting, reaching, carrying, pushing or pulling objects.
Requires ability to reach by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
Environmental Conditions
Requires ability to work in a light industrial/warehouse environment.
Scope of work includes office, light industrial and warehouse settings with exposure to heat, cold, dirt, dust, pet hair, mold and other allergens.
Subject to work in an office, light warehouse, store showroom and surrounding grounds setting Subject to exposure to allergens including dirt, dust, mold, metals, rubber, plastics, latex, and pet hair Requires visual acuity to work in an environment with changing and/or low light levels.

Trucks, trailers, busses, forklift, pallet jack, scales, bale carts, 2 wheel dollies (hand truck), 4 wheel dollies (flat carts), 4 wheel metal/plastic cages, material lifts, furniture dollies, bushel carts, personal protective equipment, telephone, wheeled spring carts, wheeled deep carts, wheeled z-racks and basic warehouse equipment.
