ABOUT THE ROLE

The primary purpose of this role is to transport bulk goods and bulk raw materials within the greater Brisbane area. Our Brisbane Bulk Facility Operations currently undertakes a range of activities with a need for transportation across the greater Brisbane area. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role requires an experienced driver with strong communication skills to pick up and deliver cargo in a safe and productive manner. This position is a casual role based out of Port of Brisbane.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Efficient operation of the site’s vehicles
  • Liaise with the Operations team in relation to product delivery
  • Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules
  • Ensure all product is delivered in a timely and safe manner
  • Complete all necessary associated documentation (such as the preparation and signing of cartage dockets and service requests)
  • Have a strong commitment to safety and comply with all safety requirements
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of deficiencies in the delivery of product
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as all company policies and procedures
  • Take good care of vehicles / plant under your care

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Heavy-Combination (HC) Australian Driver's License
  • Experience in driving heavy bulk vehicles and other machinery as used by Qube
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable Commonwealth/State Safety and Environmental legislation and standards, Main Road Heavy vehicle legislation and permitting standards
  • Ability to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolution
  • Ability to work well within a small team environment

Key Competencies/Skills

  • Good driving skills for heavy haulage trucks
  • Good skills in operating other equipment used by Qube
  • Sound communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Customer focused and responsive to customer requirements
