Loraas has immediate openings for a Truck and trailer/Heavy-duty Apprentice at our Saskatoon district Our priority is to give our mechanics a great paying career with great incentives!

As a Truck and trailer or Heavy-duty Apprentice:

  • Inspect and repair Garbage Trucks, support vehicles and smaller off-road equipment in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner.

  • Conduct preventative maintenance using scheduled inspections to ensure all equipment and systems are operational and maintain sufficient level of operational trucks in the fleet.

  • Maintain accurate work orders and parts charge outs using an electronic work order system

  • Complete all safety checks and record all tire and brake measurements in the company database.

  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

  • Works independently as well as under direction of the journeyperson mechanics and lead hands.

  • Will be required to learn and service all post collection processing equipment and perform facility work as needed.

Shift: Monday to Friday - Weekly Rotating shifts of 6:00 am to 2:30 pm and 9:30 am to 6:00pm. Additionally, will be required to work 6:00am to 2:30pm every 5th Saturday.

Rate: $24.00 to $43.27 based on experience.

What We Need From You:

  • Good attitude

  • Willingness to learn

  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment tests

  • A minimum of Full Class 5 driver’s license
