Hood Industries, Inc. is a blend of wood manufacturing and distribution concerns that include plywood and lumber manufacturing plants and twenty-three specialty wood product distribution operations located in eighteen states.We are seeking a Trimmer Operator position at our sawmill located in Waynesboro, MS Y ou will be responsible for operating and maintaining factory equipment. If you have experience operating heavy machinery, we would love to hear from you.Responsibilities:

• Consistently operates Trimmer at production target speeds.
• Monitors for saw cuts and ensures boards are even ended.
• Troubleshoots typical problems and performs simple maintenance on machine.
• Assists Millwright/Lead with repairs on their equipment, as needed.
• Fills oilers for saw air cylinders.
• Understands the importance of machine guarding, inspects work area to make sure all guards are in place while working, and stays out of guarded areas unless properly locked out.
• Uses equipment correctly and immediately reports damaged equipment to the Supervisor or Lead Person.
• Wears all required PPE.
• Follows all company safety rules and policies and keeps assigned area clean.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Ability to understand, clearly communicate, and follow all safety rules and policies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to make decisions quickly utilizing hand, eye, and foot coordination.
• Able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Physical Requirements:

• Performs tasks such as walking, climbing steps/ladders, sitting, and standing for long periods.
• Able to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
• Ability to work outside in all conditions, in and around loud equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the work shift.

Salary Range: $18.11/per hour
