Position Summary
Beasley Group is seeking a hardworking and dependable Trimmer Apprentice to join our sawmill operations team in Hazlehurst, Georgia. This entry-level position is designed for individuals interested in learning the lumber and wood processing industry. The Trimmer Apprentice will assist with trimming, cutting, sorting, and handling lumber materials while learning safe equipment operation and production procedures in a fast-paced sawmill environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in trimming and processing lumber to production specifications
- Operate and learn sawmill machinery and trimming equipment under supervision
- Inspect lumber for quality and defects
- Stack, sort, and move lumber materials throughout the facility
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow all company safety procedures and operational guidelines
- Assist with routine equipment maintenance and cleanup
- Work closely with production team members to meet daily production goals

Qualifications

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred (but not required).
- Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment
- Willingness to learn sawmill operations and equipment
- Strong attention to safety and detail
- Dependable attendance and positive work ethic
- Ability to work well as part of a team
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in manufacturing, sawmill, woodworking, or industrial labor is a plus, but not required
- Mechanical aptitude is beneficial
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, noise levels, and dusty conditions
- Ability to bend, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends and holidays
