Job Description:

Triage - Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Bohemia, NY

Hours/Days: 5/8.5 hour days, Mon-Fri 7:30a-6:30p

Organization :New York Cancer And Blood Specialists (NYCBS)

In this role, you will:

• Perform thorough telephonic symptom assessment for patients practice- wide
• ● Utilize evidence-based triage protocols to determine appropriate level of care and urgency while
• providing clinical decision-making within scope of practice.
• ● Deliver patient education regarding symptom management, treatment side effects, medication
• guidance and support.
• ● Coordinate care with physicians, APPs, and ancillary staff as needed.
• ● Maintain detailed and accurate documentation, utilizing appropriate focused assessment
• documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
• ● Maintain strict adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, HIPPA regulations, and practice
• policies.
• ● Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism, empathy, and efficiency in
• high-volume call environments.
• ● Support continuity of care by proactively identifying patient needs and potential barriers to treatment
• adherence.
• ● Assumes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the management team, consistent with
• organizational needs and departmental objectives.

We require:

• Valid New York State RN License
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
