Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) is hiring a full-time Treatment Support Technician in our REST Program in Center Township, PA! In this important role, you will help facilitate programming, support daily patient activities, and maintain the integrity of the therapeutic environment for individuals receiving substance use disorder treatment.

By facilitating groups, supporting patient needs, promoting accountability, and helping maintain a safe and structured treatment environment, you provide the day-to-day support that allows patients to focus on recovery. Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate discussion groups and therapeutic activities.
  • Monitor patient behavior and maintain a safe treatment environment.
  • Conduct patient handbook orientation.
  • Conduct searches of patient belongings, rooms, and persons as required.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and clinical staff.
  • Assist patients with completing assessment and intake documentation.
  • Support communication with family members, referral sources, and other recovery supports.
  • Assist with crisis intervention and patient support.
  • Transport patients to appointments, support groups, activities, and other approved destinations.
  • Document patient interactions and involvement in progress notes.
  • Collect urine specimens and complete required drug screening documentation.
  • Provide post-discharge contacts and referrals under therapist direction.
  • Monitor medication self-administration and complete appropriate documentation.
  • Assist with location-specific duties, including gift shop operations, nutrition needs, donation management, and smoke break monitoring as applicable.
  • Monitor daily living activities, including chores, behaviors, and personal grooming.
  • Communicate medical tasking and pharmacy needs in accordance with site-specific workflows.
  • Remain on duty until properly relieved and perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • Knowledge of 12-Step programs, recovery support services, and addiction treatment principles preferred.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to listen without judgment and demonstrate empathy toward patients.
  • Strong teamwork, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to supporting individuals in recovery.

Requirements

What Do We Require?

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college coursework.
  • PCB (Pennsylvania Certification Board) certification.
  • Knowledge of recovery support services, addiction treatment, and 12-Step programs.

Additional Requirements

  • Pass a PA Criminal History Record Check.
  • Obtain PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances.
  • Pass a Drug Screen.
  • Complete a 2-Step TB Test.
  • Obtain CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Must be available for mandatory staffing coverage when needed to ensure a safe treatment environment.
  • Must remain awake and alert while on duty.
  • If living a life of recovery, must attest to a minimum of 18 months in recovery from substance use disorder.
