Are you looking for a hands-on role where you can contribute to the backbone of our operations? Stella-Jones is seeking a motivated Treating Engineer Helper to support the manufacture, processing, and handling of our high-quality lumber and round stock. In this role, you will work closely with our treatment team to ensure that our products meet rigorous specifications. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys active, physical work and wants to be part of a team that prioritizes quality and safety.
Principal Responsibilities
• Production Support: Assist in the daily handling, manufacturing, and processing of lumber and round stock.
• Treatment Operations: Actively assist in changing treatment charges. This includes identifying and inspecting materials for conformance, ensuring binders and cables are secure, and efficiently moving and storing charges.
• Operational Versatility: Perform the core duties of Inspector, Machine Operator, and general Laborer positions as needed to ensure plant workflow remains steady.
• Logistics & Material Handling: Operate material handling equipment, assist in loading railroad cars, trucks, and trams, and perform regular inventory counts.
• Site Maintenance: Maintain a safe and organized work environment by performing yard cleanup and assisting with the maintenance of processing systems.
• Safety Excellence: Play an active role in the Stella-Jones safety program, ensuring all tasks are performed in accordance with our high safety standards.
