Job Role / Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be responsible for collecting inpatient and outpatient revenue from patients, attendants, visitors, and staff across various outpatient locations. The role also includes retrieving cash from overnight cash safes at multiple locations, emptying of Sadqat and Zakat boxes at both on-campus and off-campus Karachi sites, depositing the collected funds into designated bank accounts, and sharing detail reports with the relevant departments in a timely manner.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Collect cash, cheque, credit card etc. from inpatient and outpatient visitor / attendant / patient & staff.
  • Record all revenue collected in the cashier module under the appropriate options.
  • Liaise with cashier’s supervisor, financial counsellor and credit and collection section for correct identification of patient, amount and account of cash collection or refund.
  • Ensure polite, professional, courteous, and caring dealings with patients, visitors, attendants, and staff to create a positive impact on both the department and the organization.
  • Reconcile all revenue collected during the day with the cashier report and physical cash balance, and deposit the reconciled amount with the Cashier Supervisor or in the Night Safe.
  • Cash collected by the counter cashier during the morning shift (8:00 am to 4:00 pm) should be deposited at the bank on the same day, with the bank deposit slips handed over to the supervisor.
  • Cash collected by the counter cashier in the evening (4:00 pm to 7:00 pm) should be kept in the iron safe and deposited at the bank the next working day in the morning, with the deposit slips handed over to the supervisor.
  • All un-reconciled cash either excess or shortage, should be reported to supervisor, and the matter to be conducted as per the cash excess and shortage policy and procedure.
  • Empty Zakat boxes timely and submit the revenue in the bank and share the reconciliation reports with the concerned departments.
  • Prepare Sadaqat and Zakat box opening monthly schedule and share with Resource Development Department.
  • Arrange change amount from bank / AKUH as per need basis.
  • Submit cash physically into the bank on daily basis and maintain daily records.
  • Adjust working hours as needed to cover any replacements at the cash counter.
  • Actively participate / perform cash audits of all front desk locations.
  • Prepare monthly revenue collection reports.
  • Any other task assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • At Least a graduate degree or equivalent qualification in a related area
  • 03 Year of professional experience
  • Proficiency on MS Office (Word & Excel)
  • Team player
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
