Join Our Team as a Treasurer in Malta! 🌍

We are seeking a Treasurer to lead our global liquidity, risk mitigation, and financial governance initiative. This is a high-impact position that balances day-to-day cash operations with sophisticated financial engineering and strategic process automation.

Core Responsibilities

1. Cash & Liquidity Management

• Liquidity Oversight: Monitor wide cash balances to ensure optimal liquidity for daily operations and supplier obligations.

• Intercompany Funding: Managing intercompany funding and optimizing cash pooling structures across multiple legal entities and GEOs.

• Banking & Relationship Management: Lead bank relationship management across multiple jurisdictions, including account lifecycle management, complex KYC/AML processes, and negotiation of competitive banking fees.

• Cash Flow Forecasting: Develop and maintain robust short- and medium-term forecasting models to ensure funding requirements are met under various stress scenarios.

2. Financial Risk Management (FX & Interest Rates)

• Hedging Strategy: Design and execute FX hedging strategies to mitigate currency risk.

• Exposure Analysis: Conduct balance sheet "deep dives" to identify hidden FX exposures and propose proactive mitigation strategies.

• Debt & Interest Management: Monitor interest rate risk and manage debt facilities, ensuring compliance with all borrowing covenants.

3. Treasury Reporting & Compliance

• Derivative Valuation (MtM): Provide and explain Mark-to-Market (MtM) valuations for derivatives, ensuring accuracy for financial reporting and year-end audits.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory capital requirements, liquidity ratios, and EMIR/transaction reporting standards.

• Advanced Reporting: Develop monthly treasury dashboards highlighting net liquidity, hedge coverage ratios, and a breakdown of realized vs. unrealized FX gains.

• Performance Variance Analysis: Analyse and explain deviations in FX performance, distinguishing between market volatility, timing differences, and hedge effectiveness.

4. Audit, Process & Internal Controls

• Policy Governance: Develop and maintain Group Treasury Policies.

• Audit Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors regarding bank confirmations and Hedge Effectiveness Testing.

• Process Optimisation: Identify and implement automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and strengthen controls within the treasury workflow.

• Strategic Projects: Lead treasury-specific initiatives, including the implementation of Treasury Management Systems (TMS) and payment automation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Education & Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Fully qualified Accountant (ACCA / MIA or equivalent) is essential for this technical level.

Experience

· A minimum of 4 years of experience within treasury or cash management.

• Experience within a Big 4 firm is highly recommended and will be considered a significant advantage.

• Previous experience in the iGaming or Online Advertising sectors is a significant advantage.

Technical Skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency and analytical skills.

• Strong understanding of banking systems, liquidity management, and payment processes.

• Solid grasp of IFRS 9 accounting for financial instruments and derivatives.

• Autonomy: Proven ability to operate independently and take ownership of the treasury function with minimal supervision.
