Traveling Superintendent

Twin Cities Based Company | Northern Minnesota & Upper Midwest | Direct Hire | $100,000–$150,000

Konik is partnering with a growing general contractor seeking to add a Traveling Superintendent to support active ground-up construction projects in Northern Minnesota. This role will oversee field operations on projects in Bemidji and Grand Rapids during the summer of 2026, ensuring work is executed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.

Traveling Superintendent Responsibilities

  • Lead daily field operations on ground-up construction projects from mobilization through closeout
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and on-site personnel to ensure project milestones are met
  • Develop and manage project schedules, including short-interval planning and look-aheads
  • Ensure jobsite safety compliance and enforce company safety standards
  • Review construction drawings and specifications to ensure accurate execution of work
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, progress, and adherence to plans
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to resolve issues and maintain alignment
  • Manage punch lists and oversee project closeout activities

Traveling Superintendent Qualifications

  • 5+ years of superintendent or field leadership experience with a general contractor
  • Experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods across multiple trades
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, and jobsite operations
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site in Northern Minnesota

  • Active projects located in Bemidji and Grand Rapids, MN
  • Role is primarily field-based with travel required between project sites

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $100,000–$150,000 depending on experience
  • Per diem
  • Bonus potential based on project and company performance
