Description

The Traveling Site Receiver is responsible for managing the receipt, inspection, documentation, and coordination of materials delivered to active job sites across multiple locations. This role ensures all inbound shipments are accurate, properly documented, and aligned with project schedules. The Site Receiver plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, minimizing material loss, and supporting field operations.

This position requires frequent travel to various project sites and close collaboration with procurement, logistics, and field teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to assigned project sites to oversee and manage material deliveries
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading
  • Identify and document discrepancies, damages, or shortages; coordinate resolution with vendors and internal teams
  • Maintain accurate receiving logs, inventory records, and supporting documentation
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of materials on-site
  • Coordinate with site leadership, construction managers, and warehouse teams to support project timelines
  • Track and report material status, including delays or critical shortages
  • Assist with inventory counts, audits, and material transfers between sites
  • Enforce company safety standards and site-specific protocols during all receiving activities
  • Utilize inventory management systems, spreadsheets, and/or ERP tools to track materials
  • Support mobilization and demobilization efforts for projects as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or relevant certifications preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in receiving, warehouse, logistics, or construction site operations
  • Experience in construction, renewable energy, or industrial environments strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, shipping documents, and inventory reports
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic inventory management systems
  • Ability to work independently in remote or field environments
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 75–100%)



Requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions
  • Capability to operate or assist with material handling equipment (forklift experience preferred)

Work Environment

  • Primarily field-based at active construction sites
  • Exposure to outdoor elements, construction noise, and heavy equipment
  • Frequent travel required, including extended stays at project locations
