Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care and diagnostic procedures for cardiopulmonary patients across all ages and acuity levels
- Manage ventilator support, assess response, adjust settings per orders, and participate in weaning when appropriate
- Perform neonatal and pediatric respiratory procedures and support, with emphasis on critical care
- Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation; document findings and communicate with the care team
- Educate patients and families on therapies, ensure safety and infection control, and maintain equipment and supplies
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists; participate in rounds and implement treatment plans
Requirements
- Active Colorado Registered Respiratory Therapist license (DORA-RT); must be an RRT (CRT not considered)
- Completion of an approved Respiratory Therapy program
- Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (ALL REQUIRED)
- Neonatal and pediatric experience with strong critical care/ventilator skills
- Ability to work in a hospital setting on a travel assignment with 12-hour shifts and rotating schedule
- Flu vaccination required (no declinations)
- Travel requirements: traveler's permanent address must be at least 75 miles from the assignment location
- Required submission materials: Skill Sheet; AHA BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certificates; Colorado RT license in good standing; resume; proof of flu vaccine
