Responsibilities
- Perform all testing modalities provided in the pulmonary function lab, including calibration, quality control, and data interpretation support.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new testing procedures, equipment, and related policies; participate in training and supervision of students on clinical rotations in the PFT lab.
- Maintain compliance with documentation policies, including patient registration verification and proper testing orders; communicate effectively with providers and staff for scheduling of specialty exams.
- Support operations by preparing testing data for reporting, including monthly statistics and daily transaction activity where applicable; assist with scheduling adjustments and appointment confirmations.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems, calibrate and maintain pulmonary function testing equipment, and assist with supply management to prevent overstock; participate in QC activities and demonstrations as needed.
- Ensure laboratory practices align with applicable guidelines and participate in continuous quality improvement activities related to pulmonary function testing.
Requirements
- Licensure: Current New Hampshire license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
- Credentialing: Certified by NBRC or registered as RPFT.
- Certification: CPR Certification.
- Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program or Cardiopulmonary Technologist program (preferred).
- Experience: Three to five years of experience in respiratory therapy and pulmonary function testing preferred.
- General requirements: Ability to work in a hospital setting and communicate effectively with a broad range of medical staff.
