Overview
Registered Nurse – Short Stay, Travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, CA. Start date August 17, 2026 for an eight-week contract. Weekly pay range $2,198–$2,289 per week. Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (3x12). This assignment takes place in a short-stay clinical area within a full-spectrum care setting. The position is travel - temporary and is represented by CNA.

The RN will provide pre- and post-operative care for patients across the lifespan, from infant to geriatric, including education and discharge planning in a fast-paced environment. This role supports a variety of clinical needs and disease processes in the perioperative setting.

Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive pre- and post-operative care for patients across the lifespan, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.
- Perform assessments, administer treatments and medications as appropriate, operate relevant equipment, and monitor patient status in a fast-paced perioperative environment.
- Provide patient and family education before and after procedures; coordinate discharge planning and follow-up instructions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and timely progression through the perioperative pathway.
- Document care and outcomes accurately; respond to changes in patient condition with appropriate escalation and intervention.
- Apply a patient-centered approach while maintaining safety, infection control, and quality standards.

Requirements
- Minimum of one year of experience in pre- and post-operative care; prior work in a pre/post operative diagnostic cath lab is preferred.
- Ability to provide care for diverse age groups (infant through geriatric) in a high-acuity, fast-paced setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency with post-operative assessments, discharge planning, and patient education.
- This position is represented by CNA.
