Overview
Registered Nurse – PCU in Atlanta, GA, United States. Start 09/08/2026 for 13 weeks. Travel temporary assignment with guaranteed hours of 48 per week and a weekly pay range of $2,341–$2,457. Shift: 2x4 Days in an inpatient hospital setting focused on a medical step-down unit.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, ongoing nursing care to adults in a medical step-down unit, addressing conditions such as sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, CKD, and other acute medical concerns.
- Monitor patient status, perform routine and focused assessments, chart progress, and respond promptly to changes in condition.
- Administer medications and treatments, manage intravenous lines and monitors, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team on diploma-driven orders and care plans.
- Implement evidence-based protocols (e.g., sepsis management, respiratory support, hemodynamic monitoring) and adjust care plans as needed.
- Document nursing care and patient responses in the medical record; communicate clearly with physicians, case managers, and family when appropriate.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, including fall prevention, pain management, and heart/respiratory support as required.

Requirements
- Active RN license.
- Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient experience in a medical step-down or similar acute care setting.
- ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced inpatient environment with a patient-to-nurse ratio of up to 1:4.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and effective communication within an interdisciplinary team.
