Overview
Registered Nurse - PCU/SDU, San Luis Obispo, CA. Travel - temporary assignment starting 08/03/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: 1,927 - 2,083 per week. No guaranteed hours. Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (3x12) for a total of 36 hours per week. This role operates in a step-down unit within an inpatient care setting.

Responsibilities
- Plan and provide nursing care to patients in the step-down unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and monitor patient status; manage care during life-threatening emergencies.
- Administer medications and therapies as ordered; monitor patient responses and document outcomes.
- Supervise and delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel within their scope of practice.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and support discharge planning.
- Maintain patient safety, adhere to clinical policies, and apply infection control practices. This position is represented by CNA.

Requirements
- Ability to deliver nursing care in a step-down unit with high-acuity patients.
- Proficiency in ECG rhythm interpretation and rapid response to emergencies.
- Capacity to supervise and delegate to ancillary personnel within scope of practice.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork for coordinating care with the care team and families.
- Adaptability to a night-shift travel assignment and the SDU setting.
