Responsibilities
- Provide bedside nursing care on a medical step-down unit, managing patients with Sepsis, Heart Failure, Hypertensive Emergency, Respiratory Failure, COPD, Chronic Kidney Disease, TDM2, Substance use disorders, Status Epilepticus, and Encephalopathy.
- Monitor patient status through frequent assessments, telemetry, vital signs, and lab data; administer prescribed medications and IV therapies; respond to clinical changes promptly.
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, case managers, and therapy teams; participate in rounds and care planning; implement physician orders and rapid response as needed.
- Ensure accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient progress; provide patient and family education and support; assist with discharge planning and transition of care.
- Maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio and adhere to unit procedures, safety protocols, and infection control practices.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia (GA)
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years RN experience, with a background in a medical step-down or similar acute care setting
- Ability to work in a hospital environment and to perform a 2x4-day shift schedule
- Willingness to work in a high-acuity unit and adhere to unit protocols
