Responsibilities
- Provide primary nursing care for Progressive Care and Step-down ICU patients, using appropriate patient-care plans and adhering to unit protocols.
- Perform telemetry monitoring, read telemetry strips, and manage fingerstick blood glucose checks.
- Administer medications via Meditech charting system and Pyxis medication station; support respiratory care with BIPAP as needed.
- Maintain continuous cardiac monitoring, respond to rhythm changes, and document patient status and interventions accurately.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe patient progress, discharge planning, and appropriate escalation of concerns.
- Float to other acute care units in-house (Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, ER) as required, while maintaining patient safety and care standards.
Requirements
- Hawaii state RN license by start date; active Hawaii license required (and must be in possession by assignment start)
- ACLS preferred; PALS preferred; NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last 12 months; Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and to float to other acute units as needed
- Must arrive the Thursday prior to start date for an employee health appointment and onboarding requirements
