Overview

Responsibilities
- Circulate for general abdominal, gynecologic, orthopedic, and urologic procedures; assist the surgical team with instrument handling and setup.
- Maintain sterile technique, adhere to universal protocol (time-out), infection control, wound management, and blood administration/cell saver as needed.
- Coordinate with anesthesia and the circulating team; ensure patient safety and maintain a 1:1 patient ratio during procedures.
- Chart intraoperative events in EPIC; document pertinent details and communicate effectively with the team.
- Float to other OR areas as needed; participate in rotating weekends and rotating on-call nights.
- Support overall OR efficiency and help with turnover between cases.

Requirements
- NY RN license in-hand required; candidates within 75 miles of the assignment location are not accepted.
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year RN experience; acute care hospital OR circulating experience preferred
- Previous charge experience is required
- EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
- Ability to work in an operating room setting and float as needed
