Registered Nurse – Cardiac Operating Room (Cardiac OR)

Responsibilities
- Independently scrub and circulate complex adult cardiac cases, including CABG, TAVR/TAVI, and heart failure devices (VADs, ECMO, artificial heart) as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Prepare the OR, manage sterile technique, and handle intraoperative equipment, implants, and devices; monitor telemetry and patient status throughout procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and OR staff to ensure patient safety, precise instrumentation, and efficient case turnover
- Provide intraoperative nursing care, administer medications per protocol, document events, and communicate critical information during transitions of care
- Assist with perioperative planning for diverse adult cardiac procedures (Bentall, minimally invasive valve surgeries, transplant-related cases) and support rapid mobilization of personnel and equipment
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards, proper device checkout, and accurate intraoperative documentation and handoff to the postoperative team

Requirements
- NY RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum two years of operating room experience; level 1 trauma OR experience highly desired
- Ability to independently scrub and circulate for complex adult cardiac cases
- Telemetry experience preferred; transplant and TAVR/TAVI experience preferred but not required
