Overview
Registered Nurse – Surgery (Travel) in San Luis Obispo, California. This travel assignment starts on 08/17/2026 and runs for 8 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $2,635 to $2,810. Shift is days, eight-hour blocks totaling 40 hours per week. The role supports perioperative care in a surgical environment and includes mandatory call responsibilities. Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists and coordinate the flow of equipment, supplies, and staff during a surgical procedure
- Ensure patient safety throughout the perioperative phase of care
- Participate in patient care planning, assessment, and nursing treatment
- Support intraoperative activities, maintain sterile technique, manage instrument counts, and ensure proper equipment readiness
- Communicate effectively with the anesthesia team and circulating staff; document perioperative care and patient status
- Provide advocacy and clear handoffs to the post-anesthesia care team as the procedure concludes

Requirements
- Active California RN license
- Perioperative/surgical nursing experience or demonstrated perioperative competence
- Availability for 40 hours per week, dayshift, with mandatory call
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to function in a fast-paced surgical setting
- Willingness to participate in mandatory call and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
