Responsibilities
- Conduct preoperative assessments and screenings for surgical patients in the outpatient setting
- Verify patient identity, procedure, allergies, consent, and NPO status; prepare patient for the perioperative pathway
- Assist with preoperative education and discharge planning information for patients and families
- Ensure readiness of rooms, supplies, and equipment; maintain sterile technique and infection control standards
- Monitor patient vitals and status; administer medications per hospital protocol and document accurately
- Communicate clearly with anesthesia and surgical teams; provide safe patient handoffs through perioperative care
- Document care in the medical record and ensure adherence to policy, safety, and quality standards

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Preoperative/Perioperative nursing (not OR) in an outpatient or similar setting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient pre-op/perioperative environment
- Willingness to work a 3x12-hour shift pattern
