
Overview
Registered Nurse — Observation Unit, Zanesville, OH, United States. Travel assignment begins 09/21/2026 for 13 weeks in a clinic setting. Weekly pay ranges from $1,863 to $2,023 with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shift is 3x12-hour nights. The RN will primarily staff the 1S Observation Unit, with float coverage to Med-Surg units (Respiratory, Stroke, Cardiac, etc.) and possibly the ED if skilled. Epic EMR proficiency is required, and current BLS and ACLS are mandatory.

Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care on the 1S Observation Unit, monitoring patient status, including telemetry, and responding to clinical changes per unit protocols.
- Read and interpret telemetry/BCRA data; document findings in the Epic EMR; administer prescribed medications and therapies.
- Conduct frequent patient assessments, manage IV therapy, wound care, and other essential med-surg nursing tasks.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and the care team to develop and modify care plans; facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
- Float to other Med-Surg units (Respiratory, Stroke, Cardiac) and potentially ED based on skill and patient needs; maintain competency and safety in each setting.
- Maintain Epic EMR proficiency and comply with unit standards, infection control, and BLS/ACLS protocols; participate in required orientation and competency activities.
Requirements
- Current, active Registered Nurse license in Ohio
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 3 years of Telemetry/Med-Surg nursing experience
- Proficiency in Epic EMR (refresher or on-site 1:1 support not provided)
- Ability to read Telemetry/BCRA and pass day-one competency assessments
- Capable of floating to other Med-Surg units and, as needed, ED; able to work in a fast-paced observation/unit setting
