Overview
Registered Nurse – NICU in San Luis Obispo, CA. This travel assignment starts on 08/17/2026 and runs for 8 weeks with a 36-hour workweek across 3x12-hour shifts. Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and provide nursing care to patients in the NICU during assigned shifts.
- Perform care planning, medication administration, and monitor physiological changes and psychosocial needs of neonates.
- Educate and train the patient’s family on care needs, treatment plans, and discharge considerations.
- Supervise and delegate appropriate tasks to ancillary personnel in accordance with scope of practice.
- Cross-train and float to Pediatrics as needed to support unit coverage and patient care.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and family-centered care.

Requirements
- Active California RN license (or eligibility) to practice in the NICU setting.
- Neonatal ICU experience preferred.
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts with a 36-hour workweek.
- Strong assessment, medication administration, and care planning skills for neonates.
- Excellent communication with families and the health care team.
- Willingness to float to Pediatric care areas and participate in cross-training as needed.
