Responsibilities
- Provide direct NICU nursing care for neonatal patients within a home healthcare - hospice framework, including continuous assessment of respiratory status and vital signs
- Administer medications, monitor and manage IV therapy and enteral feeds, and intervene for acute changes in condition per physician orders
- Document care accurately in EPIC and maintain up-to-date charting of assessments, medications, and interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans
- Educate families on neonatal care, feeding, medication administration, safety, and equipment use; ensure caregiver readiness and home safety
- Ensure infection control standards, device management, and equipment readiness; respond promptly to alarms and clinical changes; uphold fire and life safety practices
Requirements
- California RN license (active)
- AHA BLS required; AHA ACLS required
- EPIC electronic medical record experience required
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience; current practice in NICU preferred (2 years recommended)
- Ability to work in a home healthcare - hospice setting; comfortable with travel and community-based care
- Fire and life safety training completed
- Start date: 07/06/2026; duration: 13 weeks (travel assignment)
